At This Station Kids Will... play the Roll and Graph Farm game. They can either play individually or race against a partner to get a certain number of a certain animal- you pick! Kids will roll the Kleenex box. Whatever animal is face up they will fill in on their graph on the recording sheet. If they are playing by themselves have them roll ten times and then answer the question at the end. If they are playing against a classmate they can still answer the questions at the end.
Differentiation: Students who need more of a challenge can be given more questions at the end of the game. Challenge them to answer using words, numbers, tally marks, et cetera. Students who need extra support can answer the question without tally marks and in numbers.
Formative Assessment: While walking around you should see students rolling the dice and hear them discussing where they should color on their graphs. You should also hear them discussing what the answers are to the questions at the end of the game.
Summative Assessment: At the end of the station students will turn in their game response sheets where you will see how they graphed and if they can interpret data from the graphs. |
